Crocs for Kenyan Kids
I traveled to Africa this summer with a missions team from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I saw the great need for shoes for the children of Kenya and simply want to do something about it. I came up with the idea to start collecting Croc shoes to donate to the children in need. Many of the kids there wear the flip-flop style of shoe and Crocs are much more durable and will meet the need they have for proper,long-lasting shoewear. These children love to play soccer and have fun! Croc Shoes are perfect for an active kid, they can be washed off, there are holes in the tops of them so feet can breath and the front, top and of corse bottoms of feet. I sent about five pair to friends in Nairobi to test out and they said they are perfect for their culture. I'm currently receiving Croc Shoes or donations for shipping and buyng the shoes to send to Kids in Nairobi, Kenya.
I will be working with a pastor and friend at Nairobi Lighthouse Church in Nairobi, Kenya for distribution of the Croc shoes and local churches here in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Currently I am sending about 150-200 pair of Crocs with a mission team from Southern Hills Baptist Church. They will be traveling to Ngong in June of 2008. Ngong is a small, very poor part of Kenyan about 20 minutes outside the capital Nairobi.
Thanks so much!
